Kunafa.. Flavor of Happy Occasions:

As one of the finest sweets, it is the main sweet served at weddings, Eid and social occasion tables. First made by the Fatimids, it spread among all Arabs. Alternatively, it is reported that it was first served to Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan (RA).

Merits of Kunafa:

● There are several varieties of kunafa, including blank kunafa, and kunafa with mango, banana, butter, or cheese filling.

● It is highly nutritious and provides the body with energy. It is rich in sugar and proteins.

Kunafa with Banana Filling:

Kunafa consists of kunafa, butter or ghee, and the finest nuts. It is decorated with banana slices. Once prepared, warm sugar syrup is added on top as soon as it is removed from the oven. Then, it is left for a few minutes until the syrup is absorbed. It can be decorated with nuts. Finally, it is cut into pieces and served.

Kunafa can be ordered in traditional confectionaries and kunafa stores in Madinah. The finest types of kunafa can be found in kunafa stores. It is also served in restaurants as a dessert after dinner. It is the unrivalled favorite dessert of visitors and residents of Madinah.
