The Largest Complex Serving the Qur’an:
The complex is the largest institution for serving the Holy Qur’an in the world. It was Founded by King Fahd ibn Abdulaziz, and was inaugurated in 1405AH. It specializes in printing the Qur’an, recording Quran recitations, and conducting and following research in Quranic studies, in addition to optimal utilization of advanced technologies in the field of electronic publishing and digital applications.
Departments and Facilities:
The complex is a magnificent architectural edifice with high capacities and multiple integrated facilities. It has an area of 250,000 square meters, devoted to achieving the complex sublime mission in serving the Word of Allah. It employs 1,100 scholars, Qur'an reciters, academics, etc. Bodies of the Complex include the Scholarly Council, the Scholarly Committee for Reviewing the Mushaf, Translations Center, Center for Quranic Studies, Digital Research Center, and Training and Development Unit, all of which operate under the supervision of the Higher Commission of the Complex chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
Figures and Statistics:
The annual production capacity of the complex is 18 million copies of various publications. More than 320 million copies of the Qur’an, sections (juz's), recordings and books have been produced. The complex has also published translations of the meanings of the Qur’an into 78 languages, 17 issues of the Journal of Qur’anic Research and Studies, five manuscripts of the Qur’an written by the complex calligrapher, and 13 Holy Qur'an websites. Other activities include organizing many seminars and training courses, conducting studies and launching applications to serve the Holy Qur’an and Quranic studies.
Visiting the Complex:
The complex is open to visitors Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:30 am.
