The Greatest Mosque After the Three Mosques:
Quba Mosque is the greatest mosque in Islam after the three mosques. It was built in the quarter of Bani Amr bin Awf, a subtribe of the helpers(ansar). Today, it is connected to the Prophet’s Mosque by a 3 km long walking trail. Residents and visitors of Madinah come to pray in this mosque, in anact that demonstrates following the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) and to seek reward.

Expansions and Care Throughout History:
Othman bin Affan renewed and expanded the mosque during his reign. It was also renewed by Omar bin Abdulaziz during his tenure as governor of Madinah. The mosque continued to receivecare throughout Islamic history.
The mosque received great care during the prosperous Saudi era. King Fahd bin Abdulaziz ordered it rebuilt, preserving the same old design. The mosque area was expanded to several times its original area. Four minarets and large domes were also built. Today, the largest expansion of King Salman Project to expand Quba Mosque and develop its surroundings is underway. Accommodation is projected at 66,000 worshipers, while preserving the architectural design and historical features to enrich the emotional experience of local and international visitors.
